Fall Building

Wednesday, October 26th, 2011

For the last few weeks Connor Macleod and I have been labouring away in a new spot. It’s in Squamish, up the Squamish River. There’s no gate to get there… Feel free to track it down and have a ride. Just be a nice guy and don’t shoot it… yet, we need to get our stuff together first, ie: we have a pretty sweet project planned that will be popping up on Pinkbike starting December. I’ll do a post on all that once we start picking up steam, proposal’s just got wrapped up and are starting to go out to gather funding to keep us going. For now you can check out some building shots. In a few days I’ll do a post on the branding and proposal design I did up for this.

New Section – Bonus Behind the Scenes

Sunday, September 4th, 2011

Just did an update following up the Romstad photos I shot back at the end of July. There is now a new section with a gallery of 15 images to go with the series, all available as prints. Have a look here:

Also over the last month I’ve had the pleasure of helping out Alterna Films with their intro for 13 o’clock, which is coming out this fall. I’ve shot a bunch of behind the scenes stuff that is up on push.ca:

Part I
Part II

Here’s a couple of my favorite shots:

Romstad; Alpine Ramble

Wednesday, July 27th, 2011

There was cloud floating over the city the last couple days, checking the forecast I knew it wasn’t going to last long. Sadly I didn’t manage to shoot any mountain biking but did manage to do a hike with my brother Landon, up to the peak of Hollyburn Mountain after work. The fog was dense, it looked like not many people had been up there since spring, and the snow was still plentiful. We wrapped up the adventure with a good number of shots, two of which have made it into my People section on my portfolio, so have a look.

- Two major shows coming up for Exposure Festival in Calgary, 2 Minor ones…

A Sense of Place:
Here And Now:

Ryan Kostel made the main posters, so go to the actual shows to see my contact/price list posters they’re really grid based. #based

Aside from seeing some good posters you probably want to see the photos there. I’m pretty happy with the overall presentation we all decided on, also happy with most work thats in it. If you think you’re the exception from most you might be, do better.

- Shot so much I dont have time to process it all.

Baku-bank was in town a couple weeks ago filming for D.O.P.E. 2. “CH”  Theres some secret folder on my website directory with like 5 shots floating around in it. If you find them you should be pretty pumped, they won’t be posted anywhere because they are in the bank for submission. Everyone did a really good job at what they do. Some major jib tricks happened on all sorts of combo letter rails like dfdfdfd and dfdl, ect…

- Spot Scouting

If you talked to me over the last week you most likley have heard me going on and on about all these sick spots up this highway somewhere in some mountains. I went scoping with my boy Nick Pb(I’d link to his facebook or something but he got kicked off for not using his real last name). Heres shot, so people actually care about this blog post.

Stockroom

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

Last week I did a quick product shoot with Colin Poon for a project concept he had of a store called Stockroom. We combined items we personally own to get the styling all put together. Things turned out well, here’s a preview:

2.5 Months of School

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

So, I’m back in Calgary for school, writing this on the plane before my second stint back home to Vancouver. At school I’ve been shooting mad fashion/lifestyle type work, and as much biking as possible. I have a side project that is just a blog of cellphone photography I’ve shot called Ooh BB.

Few major things have gone on since the last update, apparently Lorny has been working up at our MTBville on some new stuff. Ross still isn’t riding a bike like he should and Connor just likes electro…

But in all seriousness, I had my shots from Gully’s ‘How to’ section run in the 3D issue of Decline, then a few Party Flicks from the MTBville.com Launch Party run in the Crankworx Issue aswell. Last time while I was back in October, Connor and I slayed some high alpine epic 6400 feet above sea level, in a spot that is but isn’t too top secret. We shot some good bangers with nug light and they will be in the Session 88 review and gear shots that should pop up on NSMB some time in the near future.

While I’m back this week I plan to get some epic lifestyles of gritty rain building with Rosstridge/Giross, shoot a cribs type lifestyle with Jordie and Lorny and Mark for MBUK (thanks for the hook up Toffee) and finally bang out some riding shots with Lorny… And a solid themed fashion shoot with Brad Fairall, which I will have more on later.

MTBville Party – Savage Beagle @ 9

Thursday, August 13th, 2009

Hope to see everyone out there tonight for the release party of MTBville.

Just got back from setting up and this is our favorite photobooth to date. We’re also giving away a Rocky Mountain Flow frame courtesy of Rocky. There’s also tons of other goodies that will be handed out, you know… just to make a super sweet party more sweet.

Doors are at 9 tonight and there is a decent chance of a big line, so arrive early.

Check some pics of the booth.
