Crankworx and Saint Deep Summer Challenge

Friday, August 20th, 2010

Huge ups to Jordan Manley for taking home first place for the Saint Deep Summer Photo Challenge. If you never have heard of Jordan before I would take a poke around his website to see what this man can do… This is of course after you climb out from under your rock. It was unreal to be part of his team during this contest.

Also the party shots from Jordie Lunns Grilled Cheeze Party and the Cove Bikes Party are both up in the events section of the site… AND there also is a new page in my still life section of the last project I shot, which was mentioned in the previous post.

Stockroom

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

Last week I did a quick product shoot with Colin Poon for a project concept he had of a store called Stockroom. We combined items we personally own to get the styling all put together. Things turned out well, here’s a preview:

Big Things

So. Good thing it’s been almost a year since the last blog post. No stress though, new site is up and running, been working hard on tons of projects as of late and just picked up 1250 new business cards to match the new stee.

For a gander of projects as of late :

Semester Project: Animalia Canadiana

This project springs off of one piece I put together last year of 3 Elk crossing a river. There are now 3 more pieces, a bear, a big horn sheep, and a moose. This project speaks to the idea of man setting out to conquer nature and understand it. All pieces are collaged from 10-20 original photos I have shot while out and about. The frames are milled from dead-fall timbers from the animals natural habits. These pieces are up for sale so get in touch if you’re interested in prices and sizes.

2.5 Months of School

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

So, I’m back in Calgary for school, writing this on the plane before my second stint back home to Vancouver. At school I’ve been shooting mad fashion/lifestyle type work, and as much biking as possible. I have a side project that is just a blog of cellphone photography I’ve shot called Ooh BB.

Few major things have gone on since the last update, apparently Lorny has been working up at our MTBville on some new stuff. Ross still isn’t riding a bike like he should and Connor just likes electro…

But in all seriousness, I had my shots from Gully’s ‘How to’ section run in the 3D issue of Decline, then a few Party Flicks from the MTBville.com Launch Party run in the Crankworx Issue aswell. Last time while I was back in October, Connor and I slayed some high alpine epic 6400 feet above sea level, in a spot that is but isn’t too top secret. We shot some good bangers with nug light and they will be in the Session 88 review and gear shots that should pop up on NSMB some time in the near future.

While I’m back this week I plan to get some epic lifestyles of gritty rain building with Rosstridge/Giross, shoot a cribs type lifestyle with Jordie and Lorny and Mark for MBUK (thanks for the hook up Toffee) and finally bang out some riding shots with Lorny… And a solid themed fashion shoot with Brad Fairall, which I will have more on later.
